Welcome

Welcome to The Pocket Change Traveler.

Me and my wonderful boyfriend Hunter at Schloß Schönbrunn in Vienna, Austria

First, you should know a little bit about me.

I attend Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama as a Journalism/Mass Communications major with a  minor in Business. I work at The Alabama Press Association (APA) as a Tear-sheet Clerk, meaning I sift through hundreds of newspapers, finding advertisements and working on billing. As exciting a life as this gives me, I still enjoy traveling immensely, and every trip I take increases my thirst--rather than quenching it. Hunter Hobbs, my dashing and charming boyfriend (no input here right?) loves to travel as well, and has vowed to follow me all over the globe.

As a college student, I am perpetually strapped for cash and time. Between taking 18 hours at Samford University (part of the reason I'm so cash-poor) and working 20 hours a week at APA (even with a great job, still cash-poor), I have very little time to travel as much as I would like, plus, very little funds to do any traveling with once I get the time.

However, traveling is just as much of an education as the $40,000 a year college I attend, and offers lessons that no classroom can provide. That being said, I've taken it upon myself to continue traveling--no matter how difficult the time and money are to find.

Feel free to leave your comments, suggestions, and arguments--just keep in mind I am a highly opinionated individual, and I will not hide that. I hope that you will join me on this journey to be truly educated, but still able to afford next week's groceries.

Komm mit! (Come along, in German)
